Plotting ISIS Terrorist Jailed
A man who planned a terrorist attack by attempting to make a bomb to be used in a driverless car attack has been incarcerated for 15 years.
Farhad Salah aged 24 planned to attack in a manner to spare his own life while harming “others he considered to be infidels”, a court was told.
Salah has now been found guilty of preparing to commit acts of terrorism after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court. During the trial, jurors heard how he was a support of the Islamic State Terror Group known as ISIS, ISAL and IS, the now-convicted would-be terrorist was testing small improvised explosive devices and planning the attack at the time of his arrest.
Anne Whyte QC, prosecuting, told jurors how Salah had intended to make an explosive device to be placed in a remote-controlled vehicle “so that no-one had to martyr themselves in the process”.
She continued: “Improvised explosive devices could be made and used in a way here in the UK that spared his own life preferably but harmed others he considered to be infidels.”
Ms Whyte describes Salah as getting “increasingly desperate” to carry out an attack in the name of the Islamic State.
Judge Paul Watson QC said Salah had come to the UK in 2014 after “ostensibly fleeing from conflict” in Kurdistan, he had appeared to be following British laws and living a stable lifestyle, however, “the reality was far more sinister”, he said.
Judge Watson told how a “clear picture” had emerged of someone who had “become wedded to an extremist ideology and was preparing to take action to give effect to those views”.
Authorities have previously expressed concerns over how dangerous Salah is with counter-terrorism police saying the individual “posed a very real risk” to public safety.
Farhad Salah was convicted sentenced to 15 years, his co-defendant Andy Star, a 32-year-old chip shop owner from Chesterfield, was cleared of the same offence after jurors could not reach a verdict.
Mr. Salah is just one of the many "refugees" that our so-called progressive countrymen allowed into our country, only for him to plot the mass murder of those who so warmly welcomed him.
