Raab: No Deal Brexit Now Likely

The new Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has revealed that the “balance has shifted” towards an EU exit on WTO terms due to the lack of flexibility from the European Union.

In an interview with ITV News, Raab has said: “If the EU continue to stick to their position that their cannot be any change to the Withdrawal Agreement then no I think the balance has shifted and we will end we leaving on WTO terms.”

When it came to the prospect of a UK-EU deal agreement being done, Raab said: “There is a deal to be done if the EU show the pragmatism and flexibility that we’ve shown.”

He also hit out at the “undemocratic backstop” whilst insisting that the “arm of friendship” was still extended to Brussels, but highlighted how they had remained “pretty stubborn”.
