Brave Warrington woman sees off suspected 'flasher'
A woman in Warrington saw off a 'flasher' after she 'burst out laughing' as he exposed himself and told him that both of her dogs had a bigger penis than him.
The woman was approached by Dana Mustapha for a cigarette back in September before he began to perform a sex act on himself, a court has heard.
Apparently unfazed by the incident, she told Warrington Magistrates Court that if she saw him again she would have 'launched him'.
Mustapha, a 34-year-old Iraqi national, was accused of committing a series of disturbing acts aimed at members of the public, including exposing himself in front of children.
He pled not guilty to three counts of exposure as well as accusations of threatening behaviour, assault and two of harassment but was convicted and handed a prison sentence.
The exposer will now spend time behind bars with the court handing him a 46 week sentence on Thursday.
Mustapha, who was helped in court by a Kurdish interpreter, was said to have engaged in a wide range of threatening behaviours around the Latchford area.
In another instance, he dropped his trousers in front of school children in the area of Knutsford Road, Warrington Guardian reports.
A further incident saw him pull his trousers down and squat as if he was 'having a poo' at a children's play area in Victoria Park in front of a man and his toddler stepson.
The witness described a look of 'evil excitement' on Mustapha's face as he then 'reached around as if he was aiming to grab hold of what he had passed to throw it'.
The victim left and the defendant was identified through a social media appeal, with the police contacted.
On another occasion, he unbuttoned his jeans and exposed him for 'sexual thrill' and urinated in the street, in full view of the business, twice.
Mustapha has since been charged with three counts of exposure.
As well as flashing, Mustapha was said to have made threats to members of the public and on one occasion assaulted a man.
Angela Blackmore, prosecuting the case, told the court how in September last year, a man was walking his down down Knutsford Road in the town.
The victim saw that Mustapha was walking towards him and shouting threats including: 'I'm going to f**k you up.'
The victim ignored him but Mustapha followed and continued to shout, before walking away.
Days later, Mustapha threatened the same man outside a Co-op store.
Mustapha then dropped his trousers and exposed his penis and started laughing - while a number of school children were in the area.
In another incident with the same victim, he threatened to kick his dog, cut his throat and used vile homophobic insults.
The final incident saw the complainant call a friend who attended and confronted the defendant, who claimed not to understand English.
He detained Mustapha until the police arrived and suffered severe bruising from being kicked, punched and almost headbutted by him.
Dana Mustapha appeared at a Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday 11 May where he was found guilty of a number of offences, including three counts of exposure, threatening behaviour, assault by beating and two of harassment, one of which put the victim in fear of violence.
The 34-year-old, of New Road, Latchford, was sentenced to 46 weeks in prison and handed a 48 month criminal behaviour Order.
