Thugs found GUILTY of murdering moped delivery rider
Three people have been convicted over the killing of a moped delivery rider in Battersea in May 2019.
Jaden Richards, aged 19 of Strasburg Road, Wandsworth, and a 16-year-old boy were found guilty of murder while another 16-year-old boy was found guilty of manslaughter on Thursday, 2 January following a trial at the Old Bailey.
The three are set to be sentenced at the same court on Wednesday, 5 February.
Another two teenagers, Jesire Frazer aged 18, of Battersea Park Road and a 17-year-old boy, were found not guilty of the crime.
On the 25 May 2019 at around 16:32hrs, police were called to Charlotte Despard Avenue, to reports of what was suggested to be a fight. Officers attended and found 46-year-old on the scene suffering a head injury.
The London Ambulance Service also attended and the man who was a Brazilian national was taken to hospital. He died in hospital on 28 May 2019.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death as a head injury. A murder investigation led by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command was then launched.
The court was told how Iderval, was living in London at the time and was enjoying food with his friends before going to work as an Uber Eats delivery driver. He then saw someone trying to steal his moped while it was parked outside.
He confronted the 16-year-old boy who was sat on the moped trying to start it, some of the boy’s friends then approached and a brutal attack endured, within moments Iderval was left fighting for his life after vicious strikes to the head.
In the last number of years, moped crime has become an increasing problem in England. A quick look at the video is just another example of the wonderful enrichment diversity brings.
