Joyless virtual bonfire plan for Dulwich

Dulwich, London have moved its planned bonfire display onto a virtual screen while also banning sparklers.

Firework organisers in Dulwich have cancelled the bonfire at a Guy Fawkes party and replaced it with a giant television screen showing a fire instead.

The annual event normally sees people gather together around a large bonfire as they watch a series of fireworks explode in the sky.

Sparklers have also been banned at the event, which is promoted as "eco-friendly".

The organisers suggested that the changes were "better for the environment".
